Maksym Goroshkevych on Scaling SaaS with IT Outsourcing | InventorSoft

Maksym Goroshkevych — Chief Technology Officer, InventorSoft

Maksym Goroshkevych is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of InventorSoft, a Ukrainian software development company headquartered in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, that specialises in delivering pre-selected engineering talent to SaaS and tech businesses worldwide. With over 15 years of technical and leadership experience — including a background as a senior Java developer — Maksym has grown InventorSoft into a team of more than 130 specialists, serving clients across North America and Europe in sectors such as healthcare, eLearning, fintech, and supply chain.

In this conversation with Myles, Maksym explores what it really takes to scale a SaaS product through strategic IT outsourcing: how to hire the right engineers, how to build trust with distributed teams, and why transparency is the non-negotiable foundation of every successful client partnership.

Founded in 2015 in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, by Maksym Goroshkevych and co-founder Iuliia Shustova, InventorSoft was built on a straightforward premise: connect ambitious SaaS companies and enterprises in the US and Europe with highly skilled Ukrainian developers. The company offers back-end, front-end, web design, and AI development services, with deep expertise in Java, Angular, Node.js, React.js, Vue.js,.NET, and Ruby on Rails.

Over the course of a decade, InventorSoft has grown from a small development team into a global operation, helping startups evolve into fully operating businesses and mid-size companies become market leaders — or get acquired by enterprise organisations.

InventorSoft positions itself as more than a staffing agency. The company screens and pre-selects developers specifically matched to client needs, aiming to place engineers within two to four weeks. Clients benefit from dedicated HR Business Partners who monitor project health, gather monthly feedback, and resolve issues before they escalate — a model designed to protect long-term relationships rather than just fill short-term gaps.

A defining trait of the InventorSoft model is radical transparency in processes and rates. Unlike many outsourcing providers, InventorSoft offers clients a trial period to experience the team's expertise before committing to a long-term engagement. This approach has helped the company build lasting partnerships and earn a strong reputation on independent review platforms.

InventorSoft has integrated agentic AI tooling — including Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot — into its development workflows. The company reports this enables delivery that is up to 20% faster and more predictable, a meaningful advantage for SaaS founders racing to hit product milestones.

InventorSoft's client portfolio spans healthcare, eLearning, supply chain, fintech, retail, mobility, risk management, and manufacturing. Notable clients include organisations such as Shoeby, Blade, QIMA, Luzern, DNV, and Qpercom, reflecting the range and maturity of the company's delivery capability.

Beyond his day-to-day role as CTO, Maksym has codified his decade of experience scaling InventorSoft into a published book — Scaling SaaS: Unlocking Growth Through Strategic IT Outsourcing — which offers a practical roadmap for SaaS founders navigating the complexities of distributed development teams and cross-border engineering partnerships.

His career began at SoftServe, one of Ukraine's leading software companies, before he co-founded InventorSoft and took on the mission of transforming small SaaS companies into industry leaders.

From 2017 to 2023, InventorSoft operated its own internal IT Academy, running more than 25 training cohorts across disciplines including Java, React, Node.js, Angular, Vue,.NET, and QA. Over 200 students successfully completed the Academy's programmes — a testament to the company's investment in growing the Ukrainian tech ecosystem from within.

In his conversation with Myles, Maksym covers the strategic decisions behind building and scaling a software outsourcing business, the importance of cultural fit and communication in distributed teams, how AI tooling is reshaping software delivery timelines, and what SaaS founders consistently get wrong when engaging an outsourced engineering team.
