Sujay opens by tracing his entry into the field back to a simple curiosity: the idea that you could take any dataset and extract something genuinely useful from it. His master’s work on predictive models including medical imaging systems that could forecast patient outcomes gave him an early taste of what data science could do. But it was the question of how models actually get used in the real world that eventually pulled him deeper into systems engineering, where the challenge shifts from building something that works to building something that works reliably, at scale, and under pressure.
