Principal AI Engineer Harsh Verma Expands Peer-Reviewed Publication Programme Across Leading AI and Research Journals in 2026

Over 100 Journals (AP News, NBC, FOX, etc.)

UNITED STATES, August 2026

Harsh Verma, Principal Software Engineer for AI at Palo Alto Networks, has received two recognitions at the 2026 Cybersecurity Excellence Awards, one of the most established global recognition programmes in the cybersecurity industry. Verma was recognised in the AI Security Innovator of the Year category, selected by an independent jury of cybersecurity practitioners, analysts, and CISOs, and was additionally named a 2026 Community Choice Winner in the same category, determined by community voting across a programme that received 79,455 eligible votes during the 2026 awards season.
The Cybersecurity Excellence Awards are presented by Cybersecurity Insiders, the trusted platform for CISO insight and strategic research, and are backed by a community of over 600,000 security professionals. The programme has recognised achievement across the cybersecurity community for more than a decade.
From the official Cybersecurity Excellence Awards announcement : "We congratulate Harsh Verma for outstanding achievements in the AI Security Innovator of the Year category of the 2026 Cybersecurity Excellence Awards," said Holger Schulze, founder of Cybersecurity Insiders and organiser of the Cybersecurity Excellence Awards. "Selected by an independent jury of cybersecurity practitioners, analysts, and CISOs, this recognition highlights meaningful contributions that strengthen cybersecurity across organisations worldwide."

The Work Behind the Recognition : Driving the Shift Toward Autonomous Security
Verma's recognition reflects his work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and autonomous agent architectures. His contributions focus on how modern enterprises can evolve toward real-time, self-directed security systems through agentic AI, accelerating the industry's shift toward intelligent, AI-native agents that collaborate to identify risks earlier, reduce exposure, and streamline complex security workflows.
Verma has been a recognised voice in what he describes as AI versus AI defence strategies, guiding organisations on how to prepare for adversaries powered by advanced automation. His work in designing intelligent systems and response capabilities has focused on precision, resilience, and the future of autonomous security at the enterprise level.
The 2026 Community Choice Award, the only Cybersecurity Excellence Award determined directly by community voting rather than jury evaluation, reflects the visible engagement and support Verma has earned across his network and the wider cybersecurity community. The AI Security Innovator of the Year category was among the areas that attracted the strongest community support across the 2026 programme, reflecting what the awards organisers describe as a rapid shift in cybersecurity priorities toward AI-native defence architectures. The category itself is among several focused on AI that did not exist in the programme two seasons ago.
Recognition Across the Industry : Community Validation and Industry Momentum
The 2026 Cybersecurity Excellence Awards recognitions add to a body of professional recognition that includes Verma's being an active IEEE Senior Member, his Stanford Distinguished Scholar recognition, and his membership in the Forbes Technology Council. His published analysis on AI security architecture, identity-first security frameworks, and enterprise AI observability has appeared across HackerNoon, Ai journal and Forbes, where he contributes as a member of the Forbes Technology Council.
Beyond his work in enterprise AI security, Harsh Verma is actively shaping the next generation of cybersecurity innovation through his role as an advisor at Berkeley SkyDeck, one of the leading global startup accelerators. At SkyDeck, Verma collaborates with early-stage founders building in AI and enterprise security, providing guidance on scalable security architectures, agentic AI systems, and real-world deployment challenges. His mentorship focuses on helping startups bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI innovation and production-grade security requirements.
Verma's work at Palo Alto Networks focuses on AI security architecture, agentic systems, and identity and access management for autonomous systems, areas that sit directly at the intersection of the cybersecurity challenges the 2026 awards programme identified as drawing the strongest industry attention. Beyond his technical contributions, Verma is active as a speaker, advisor, and mentor across the AI ecosystem, helping leaders, teams, and emerging talent understand and navigate rapid advances in AI-driven security.
His involvement also extends to community building, where he engages with founders, engineers, and security leaders to share insights on the evolving role of AI in cybersecurity. This includes speaking engagements, advisory sessions, and collaborative discussions aimed at accelerating innovation in AI-driven defense.
This dual focus advancing enterprise-scale AI systems while mentoring emerging startups positions Verma at a unique intersection of industry execution and ecosystem enablement, reinforcing his impact across both established organizations and the next wave of security innovators.

Advancing AI Knowledge: Google Developer Expert in Cloud AI
Harsh Verma has also been recognized as a Google Developer Expert (GDE) in Cloud AI, a distinction awarded to individuals who combine deep technical expertise with meaningful contributions to the global developer community. In this role, he actively shares knowledge on the evolving role of AI agents and agentic systems, helping developers and enterprises understand how to design, deploy, and scale autonomous AI solutions. Through talks, mentorship, and technical content, Verma focuses on advancing practical understanding of multi-agent architectures, enterprise AI adoption, and the growing importance of AI-driven automation in real-world systems.
This combination of hands-on engineering, ecosystem contribution, and thought leadership reinforces Verma’s role not only as a practitioner but also as a contributor to the global AI developer community shaping the future of intelligent systems.
